Faceted Smoky Quartz Free-Form 90g

This gorgeous piece of Smoky Quartz has been faceted into a Free-Form shape. Between those shiny polished surfaces and the rich brown hue, what's not to love! The distinct colour of Smoky Quartz is produced when natural radiation, emitted from surrounding rock, activates colour centers around aluminium impurities within the crystalline quartz. It is originally from Mount Cairngorm in Scotland, and is Scotland's national gem.

Fun Facts: The name 'Smoky Quartz' was first used much later than the gems actual discovery. with the birth of modern Gemology. Interestingly, the Ancient Celts and Druids considered Smoky Quartz a sacred stone and believed it could connect with Earth Gods, ward off negative energy and enhance grounding and stability.
