Larvikite is a beautiful stone formed of many types of minerals, which create its unique appearance. This includes Labradorite Feldspar, which is responsible for the distinctive blue-gray to silver-gray colouration. It often exhibits iridescent blue or silver highlights, known as 'labradorescence'.

  • Believed to have formed 298 million years ago, at an estimated depth of 18 miles below the Earth's surface
  • Was named for the area it was discovered; Larvik, Norway. It is the national stone.
